History
Terry Rose, Mike Rose, Bill Rose and a few friends started taking their aging father out fishing each year at Atlantic beach.  The group tstart with 6 people and grow to 96 people the year dad died.  At that point the Hillsborough Sport Fishing Club and The J.W.R. Gaffer Dolphin Tournament was born.  The first 6 years we ran the tournment as a club and the last two years we have opened it to the public with 57 boats the first year and 49 this past year.

Mission:

To provide an opportunity for average and below average income individuals to tackle a very expensive hobby; to taket disadvantaged kids, elderly, handicapped and other groups on the ocean and to provide a social atmosphere for these people and members to flourish. The organization is combating community juvenile delinquency by providing other opportunities for young boys and girls. 		NC Marine Fisheries Commission
